i'm trying to remove useless programs from my computer and keep getting error 1618 (another installation in progress. please finish before starting new one...). i tried restarting, i moved on and tried to remove different programs than the one i originally got the error on and it's 1618 all the way no matter what. i looked at my processes running and nothing looks weird. the only background i can give is that my yahoo dsl pack was accidentally removed by a friend so i attempted to reinstall using the provided cd but the installation didn't complete because it couldn't locate my modem. maybe that's my incomplete installation that's making me get 1618? regardless it's not in my processes so i'm thinking NO. help?????
